CAGES - The Dreamy Tennis Player

ETHICAL FASHION:
AN INTERPRETATION OF CAGES THROUGH ARCHITECTURAL ELEMENTS

Cruelty-free fashion was the starting point of the project.

There is a growing demand for leather, fur, and animal skins in the clothing industry, which has created a harsh system of fur farming. The animals are kept in tiny cages under horrifying living conditions. It has been unraveled that the methods they use on these farms are absolutely inhumane. Gladly, more and more people had raised awareness of the matter and started choosing a vegetarian lifestyle not only in food but in their clothing choices as well. The inspiration came from the cages that animals are being held in fur farms and the designer - being influenced by her background in interior design and architecture – started observing the world around her and spotted many architectural elements that resemble cages. In a sense, the outside housing of a building can be a “cage” to the inside – walls, rooms, objects, people, and emotions. She deconstructed these elements and created three textile collections for fashion sportswear for women.

The collections are:
- The Fierce Boxer
- The Dreamy Tennis Player
- The Futuristic Swimmer
